Underneath This Skin

by Daz Mellow   Mar 18, 2007

They wonder who I am.
They look at me like I'm weird.
They stare me down,
To see if I will turn around.
No, Ill just stare right back,
See how they like that.
I'm not one to crumble under pressure.
Nothing gets me down,
Just push me into the water,
I wont drown.

I can be black or white,
It doesn't matter.
I know I'm right,
I can do whatever.
Its a new world were all in.
No pride or prejudice,
Whether I'm poor or rich as heck,
I have my rights.
And Ill use it.

Underneath this skin,
And the world were all in.
Nothing really matters more than what you think matters.

I have a family that loves me,
Friends who care.
A home to go back to,
A car so I can go anywhere.
I have a heart that loves,
I have a brain that thinks.
I don't need anything or anyone to tell me,
Who I am underneath this skin.
