Undone

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Mar 18, 2007

I find myself observing the present
Looking at where I was and where I am
People tell me it's better this way
They don't seem to care about what I have to say

The truth is
Life is not nearly as great
Compared to when you loved me
And now being everything you hate

Despite this painstaking thought
I refuse to let you go
Let truth be told that I still love you
I love you like...like you don't even know

Lately, I don't bother to wipe away my tears
Because they serve as a reminder of how I failed
And of how I kept loving
While you were content and just bailed

If this be my punishment
For loving my dream girl
Then take my heart
And let it twist, bend, and curl

Tears of sadness could never measure up
To the smiles compelled by love I used to get
That is why I love you the way I do
That is why it is you I can never forget

You actually called me yesterday
But I didn't get the phone
Because I know you would just drop me again
And once more I would be left
With the reality of where I am and where I've been

Hearing your beautiful name
Makes my heart drop,
My stomach twinge, and my knees give out
There isn't a single thing that will make it stop

No medicine and no pills
And no flattering words will fill my empty soul
How could they ever when you're my only one?
And without you I have truly become undone

This poem was lovely but sad. i know what it feels like to care so deeply for someone but not know whether you should take them back or not. i hope you find real love; love that will love you back. good luck with all 5/5 love.
