Withdrawn

People don't tell me what I want to hear
They say "She's moved on, why can't you?"
I literally want to break down and scream
"BECAUSE THAT'S SOMETHING I CAN'T DO!"

I want them to say
"She'll love you again one day,
Just give it some time"
But they don't because there's just no way

I allow myself to believe she still loves me
If she calls or sends me a letter
It makes me think she still cares the same
I don't see things getting any better

This new guy can't be there for her like I was
And by the time she discovers that, I might be gone
But probably not because I can't see myself living any other way
So forever I will remain withdrawn
