Almost a year has gone by,
though it seems like just yesterday,
I fell to my knees and let out a cry.

Joy and happiness torn from my life,
the day you left us all in tears,
every minute became a new strife.

Everyone gathered at school the next day,
eyes puffy and not a smile in sight,
holding hands for this life we must pray.

Though we will always be friends,
your distance is hard to bare,
until we meet again when my life ends.

Your smile still lingers inside of me,
from the amazing times we shared,
but now you're in heaven, forever you'll be.
