Winter Child

by Tine   Mar 20, 2007

Staring outside a window
filled with winter crust
she doesn't comprehend
how snow could enjoy the cold

Hold still for the summer
in which pain reaches surface
because sh's never sure
whether her deepest fear will stay one

A background of flakes
surrounds the scenery of winter
as she walks downhill
into her mind to think about this

Could it be that freezing
helped her smile warm up
or is it just that
she's a winter child ?
