Words So Brave

"No, you had your chance, just leave me alone."
Those words hurt the most,
especially after I knew it would.
but him saying it stung real hard.

"I said I was sorry, I promise you it-"
He did even let me finish,
he didn't want to hear why.
I was selfish and foolish.
"Just leave...now"

But I wouldn't leave, I would fight now.
"I'm not leaving"
He looked at me, cold, dead, but still alive.
"Get the hell out of here."

Each word killed me,
more than any knife did.
"If you don't leave me, I swear I will kill you."
Fear struck me, but did not show.

"I know" Words so brave.
I know I am stronger, I can fight this.
He looked at me, but this stare was soft.
It was of sorrow.

"just...just leave me, please."
He sat back down, slouched over the chair.
"No, no...we can fight this."
I begged of him.

He just looked up at me,
tears fell from his cold eyes,
soon turning softer and softer,
something I'd always remember.
