Roads

by Samantha lynn   Mar 26, 2007

Stare away the day
And imagine the world
One step by one step at a time.
Strangers to this fleeting,
Fleeing away from sanity.
You broke my heart,
Then I broke your pride,
As we danced around the
Make shift truce of words.
So maybe reality isn;t bad,
Or as bad as I thought it,
But what's done is done
And there's no way of turning back.
Like an old candy heart left out
Since that bitter Valentines way back,
We left ourselves exposed to the harshness,
The scrutiny of our own imperfections.
Miles away in body
And light years away in love
You sit confused in your bedroom
While I write you another sad poem
From a bus on the starlit road.
