The Pills Influence

by Laloser05   Mar 27, 2007

Its easy to get lost in your own little world,
When you're in a state of total desolation.
It's not easy to escape this hopelessness,
The feeling of being totally alone,
With no way to feel loved, hated or anything.
Just in this tiny cocoon of numbness.

Little drops of sanity fall around you,
But to you they seem pointless in this hurricane,
This natural disaster that you created.

Well you fall out of your hypnosis,
They tell you it's all in your head.
That your little cocoon, your tiny castle,
Your barricade is a fake, and you are a liar.
You are making a fuss over nothing.
That nothing is my life, I'll have you know,
You shout, you scream, you cry...nothing works.

The pills are meant to make it better,
But all you feel is worse. The alcohol, the nicotine,
It's all failing to bring you any release.
This sixth sense of your eternity of angst.
Where does it end? Where do you turn?
When you're so easily lost in your own little world.

    TheUNSEENChild,
    Postive comments:
    * I like the fact you don't need to rhyme, the way it simply addresses the problem on the page. It lays it out with no fear of who might read or hear it.
    * I enjoyed and consumed the way it was very truthful.
    * I love you, you're a great poet. :)
    Negative comments:
    * Possibly the three lines could be made so the poem formed the same pattern.

Really good work darling, Love you always.
