we sit planning revenge

to avoid the blame for the lies we've already told

to complete the goals of others

fighting itself to control our weak minds

to declare its greatness when it has no right

reminded us of the good and the bad
brought us back down to earth
restrained us from losing ourselves in a naive world of optimism
