Taking Things Too Far

by TravTagz   Apr 2, 2007

Pick up this gun and put it to my head,
It no longer matters what anyone said,
I close my eyes and take a breath,
Right before this vicious death.

My whole life is flashing,
These tears go crashing,
Pull the trigger of the gun,
Hand drops down, body goes numb.

All I see is a bright white light,
I finally ended my endless fight,
And now I've started my eternal rest,
But then I feel a shock to my chest.

I hear my sister screaming,
Asking for the meaning,
And right when it seems they can't do enough,
That's when they make the beats go up.

Open my eyes and realize I'm again alive,
They say welcome back because you had died,
And everyone asking the reason I tried,
Never knowing how I always cried.

I say I'm sorry for my crime,
And now I realize it wasn't my time.

This almost made me cry...my uncle committed suicide a few months ago...you should be thankful that you got a 2nd chance at life. Even though it may not seem like it now...in the end its all for the better. As for the poem...I liked it. The imagery was good...I could almost see everything happening. I liked it a lotttt. Never stop writing! 5/5
