The Power of Compassion

by Zach Buenger   Apr 2, 2007

This isn't a poem, but it is something that needs to be realized and passed on... thanks

Everyone has something they are striving for, or have something that they are trying to keep, but what if that something just seems to be getting farther away. What if, no matter what one might try to do keep it, it would not make a difference? Is this the point of no return, the time when desperation kicks in and everything else doesn't matter? Should one feel helpless or despite everything going wrong, carry on?

These are all questions bestowed on one that is in a time of need, and they can only be answered by actions and not words, although words may be the action that will answer them

So everyone out there think back to the last time you might have hurt someone, think about your emotions in the situation and consider if these emotions were called for. Did you make a big deal out of a little situation, or did you neglect what the other person might have been feeling. Now, and more importantly, think about the feelings of the other person. Think about what they might be feeling right now at this very moment, maybe they are confused, maybe they are hurt, maybe they are questioning their actions, maybe they are thinking about the exact questions I mentioned earlier, or maybe just maybe, they are reading this too at this very moment and thinking of you.

It is at this point that you have a choice:
You can just not worry about it, put this message in the back of your mind and forget about it. Not worry about what the one you might have hurt is thinking about, or trying to do. You never know, they might be trying to get your attention and you might not even be noticing it.
OR
You can try to get a hold of them right now. Call them up without planning out anything to say, and your true feelings will come out. It will be at this moment in time that you will feel better about yourself and if the person you call is human, they will forgive you. It wont really be what you say that will get through to them; it will be the action you took that will truly show them just how much you really care.

These days, people are so scared to admit they are wrong that small problems turn into big problems, feelings are hurt, and one might lose someone that is very special to them.

SO see your surroundings as they are, and pay more attention to what you might be doing/saying or not doing/saying, and never miss a chance to show forgiveness, truthfulness, or compassion. Life is fragile, with fragile people, so handle everything with care and don't be afraid to comfort those in need. You never know, what you show them one day may save their life the next.

By the way, if someone was on your mind the whole time you read this, do both of you a favor and be the first to admit you were wrong, or that you could have done more to make them feel like they always had someone on their side, YOU

If this enlightened you, touched you in any way, or helped you through a hard situation, please find a way to share the message with others. Thank You and God Bless
