Escape In A Race

by TravTagz   Apr 4, 2007

Strap on my helmet, head to the car, don't miss a stride
Open the door and jump in my ride
The only place left that I can still hide
Getting ready I close my eyes and swallow my pride

Deep breath to stop my nerves from shaking
Going over all the steps I'll be making
One final breath I'll be taking
Try not to forget that at the end I'll be braking

Head up to the line and get ready to go
It's almost time to start the show
Praying that another engine won't blow
Gonna lose if I go too slow

Put it into gear and wait for the light
Grip onto the wheel, need to hold on tight
Hope the camera's rolling this will be a great site
Running my first and final race of the night

Keep it revved as I watch the tree
Take off so quick like I'm the cavalry
Hoping no one can catch up to me
Nine seconds later I'm back to reality.
