If We Had...

We once had feeling for each other, years ago, but neither of us would tell,
If we had told, would it be in love we fell?

We each wanted the other, but never would say any thing,
If we had would we have been together, or just had a fling?

We kept these feelings bottled up inside I guess out of fear,
If we had let them out would one of had shed a tear?

We saw each other frequently, but with others around,
If we had been alone, would it be love we could've found?

We didn't see each other for several years and then I had someone new,
If we had not had time apart, then maybe that someone would be you.

We didn't know where the other was or how to come in contact,
If we had known, would we have kept track?

We came across each other, I donâ??t think my mistake,
This is the time, our chance to take.

We still have those feelings, from years ago, that now we have told,
Hearing them from you has made mine too unfold.
