Sacrifice

by Johnin   Apr 4, 2007

Sublimed magnificence with a gracious heart
Virtue disguised to ensemble human form
Heaven lost but love knew no bounds
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless me

The King of kings in a manger?
A carpenter's family as an abode?
Humbleness defined and defeated
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless me

Twelve delusive companions and more
Miracles to sustain the blind
Mortal forbearence can never scrutinize
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless me

Emmanuel mocked by scurvy filth
Majesty enthroned with a robe, a scepter and thorns
Ignominy vibes words cant fathom
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless me

Whipped, beaten, taunted, mocked
The perpetual course longed to cry
Fortitude masked what carnality could not
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless me

Agony approached epilogue with three nails perforated
Paradise lost divulged with the sacrifice on the cross
Sacrifice magnified, love triumphed
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless me

Betrayer, controvert, and a skeptic
Ethos of mankinds persisting lunacy
Clemency multifold, infinity overwhelms
His utmost was sacrificed for the worthless you and I
