Only Me...

I waited in my corner all day long..
I waited for him...
I am still waiting in this little piece of dark heaven..
That I call my sanctuary.
It seems like all my life...
Things like this always happen to me...
And only me.
I awake in my room to the sound
of my heart beating.
I am not alone.
He is here.
Right beside me.
Explaining why he's leaving me...
Just like everybody else.
The tears escaping my eyes and onto my hands that cover my face sting
Just like my heart.
He reaches for my hand
And puts it on his chest
As he apologizes
For everything...
Everything...
That I couldn't do for him.
I then leave for the only place I can find peace
The only place I think loves me...
I leave for my grave.
