I Don't Belong Here

by Sam Marie   Apr 7, 2007

((Okay, so I borrowed a few lines from the other poem with the same name--because this is exactally how I feel and she said everything I felt! Thanks!!))

I don't belong here,
I don't belong on this earth,
I don't fit in here,
I am different from all the rest.

I don't belong here,
And I realized
I don't care what you think,
It's not about you anyways.

I don't belong here,
I guess I knew that from the start,
I don't wish to be here,
So I set myself apart.

I don't belong here,
But I know why I am still here,
The world tries to break me,
But I still keep going,
Because I am doing the Lord's work.

I don't belong here,
I am not of this world
I am only a visitor,
Waiting for my Daddy to call me home.

All the world can offer you is fun that only lasts a season.
It leaves you with pain, strife, and heartache.
But me Jesus can offer so much more – hope, peace, love, joy, mercy, grace.

I don't belong here,
I feel trapped,
Tired of the lies, drama, and complacency.
It's a cold cruel world.

I'm just trying to find my place,
But I have no place,
Because I am not of this world,
I don't belong here.
