Blood, Sweat, and Tears(I'll Be Seeing You)

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Apr 7, 2007

To say I have put blood, sweat, and tears
Into every single one of my poems
Would be one of the most realistic things I've ever told you
Believe me when I tell you this statement is true

But what is mostly in my poetry
Is something that is invisible to most
It was something you could see
But now you look through it like a ghost

My poetry contains my love for you
In every word I write
I chisel more and more of it off my heart
And the less and less I want to fight

I hope to write three hundred sixty five poems
That remains my one true goal
But the more I write to you
The harder it is to hold on to my soul

I won't let these tears stop me
I'll wipe them away
My hands may be bloody
But the pain can not stay

The sweat on my brow
Only eggs me on
Twenty for hours and seven days a week
My love for you pours from dusk till dawn

I'm running dangerously low
It's time to fill my tank
It's time to find someone new
Who can put some love in my empty bank

For too long I wanted that person to be you
But for too long I was living in a dream
But this dream won't come true
It's been ripped at the seem

I won't say goodbye
The word just won't do
We'll meet again one day my sweet
So I guess I'll be seeing you
