If i offered you my heart

by purplemadness   Apr 7, 2007

If I offered you my heart on a plate
Would you treasure it the way I did?
Would you throw it away, filled with hate?
Or take the inner love I filled it with?
Would you see my hopes and fears?
Would you see my soul, drowned in a lake of tears?

If I offered you my heart on a silver platter
Would you accept this proof of dedication?
Or wouldn't it really matter?
Would you say this, when your brain is on vacation?
I give you my full devotion,
Check my heart, under the chapter called emotion.

If I offered you my heart, shiny and bright
Would you carry it with you, day and night?
Would you protect it from all kinds of harm?
Promise you will keep it safe and warm.
Then I would give you my heart,
And you and I would never be apart.

But if you throw it on the dusty ground,
In hell is where I will be found.
But if you accept this gift, I won't deny
I will get wings and float on the wind like a butterfly.
So my love, the choice is up to thee
Will you be mine eternally?
