The Rain

by purplemadness   Apr 7, 2007

You tried to make me go insane,
well dear, you better try again.
Since you closed that door,
I longed to be with you once more.
You ran so fast, I could not see.
Oh my love, why didn't you wait for me?

I loved you for so long, my love for you was so strong
You're gone and I don't know what went wrong.
Now you left me to go insane
And I leave town, barefoot in the rain.
I am not running away from you,
That's the last thing I would do.

Crying over you is now all in vain
I am too young to stay sad.
I am glad to be walking in the rain.
And here I say goodbye to the love we once had.
I have other plans then crying over you.
I'll dance in the rain and belong to the happy few.

The thoughts that have haunted my brain.
Are all washed away by the pouring rain.
I'll hitchhike all the way through this state,
Far away from you and your hate.
I just want to start over new,
far, far away from you.

I won't get fooled again
The memory of you is washed away
Thanks to my friend the rain
I won't grieve over you another day.
Gone is all my pain
Thank you, my friend the rain.
