Forgotten Petals

by Forsaken Lullaby   Apr 8, 2007

Away she walks a rose held in her hand
She's so afraid no one will ever understand
The winter breeze leaves her numb
who she is now is not what she wanted to become

A thorn stains her hand red
Inside she feels so cold, so dead
Petals fall to the ground
Her voice no longer makes a sound

Drops of rain fall from gray skies
Everything she has ever known has left her paralyzed
Leaving her broken
So many words have been left unspoken

Despair and heartache are what she knows best
She walks away, unlike the rest
There is no love to keep her in touch
The things she has seen are just too much

Tear drops fall from her eyes
Breaking her well hidden disguise
Landing upon her dying rose
Her eyes she wishes she could close

A frost bitten petal left in her crimson palm
Flakes fall from her skies, so sweet, so calm
A petal drops to a lake of the forgotten
Left black and rotten

So this is what the poor girl has come know
Nothing more then death and Sorrow
We say good bye, watch her go
She wakes to find there is no tomorrow
