One of These Days

by Daz Mellow   Apr 9, 2007

Finally,
I'm breaking away,
From the shell protecting me.

Breaking my habits,
Of coloring within the lines.
Throw away the color charts,
I want to see the colors not on the rainbow.

Close the umbrella,
I want to feel the rain on my skin.
Turn off the lights,
I want to see the darkness closing in.

Let the right be wrong,
Let the weak be strong,
Let the light seep in,
Let the stars shine during the day.

Break all the rules,
Bend the lines keeping you in.
Cause if you want your life to really begin,
You've got to rebel a little.

And I'm telling you,
One of these days,
I'm gonna break away,
And fly away.

Gonna runaway,
I want to feel what its like to be free.
I want to know what its like to be on my own.
But only when I'm grown,
Yeah when I'm ready.

^ I think it would sound better as
    Let the right be wrong,
    the weak be strong.
    Let the light seep in,
And, stars shine during the day.

    'I'm gonna break away,
    And fly away.'
^ away is used twice in the same stanza.

I liked this poem, it had GREAT meaning, and was amazing. If this is how you feel [ some write poems about others feelings] I wish you the best of luck. :]
There just a few MINOR things with it.
And, that's even my opinion, others might disagree. :]
    Great work, hun.
    Keep it up.
