December twelfth, 2005
Might have seemed like a normal night
But in a small blue house on a suburban street
A couple was in a terrible fight

Nothing new was occuring
Just the same old cries
The man left the woman
But came back, to her demise

The woman had a child
No older than ten
Who sat through this weekly
And escaped through her pen

She cried each time her parents fought
And it usually seemed to work
But tears this time were no match
In stopping the raging jerk

He said "Goodbye," and ran downstairs
Pulling out his gun
The woman heard a shot, sqeezed her child
And she began to run

She ran towards the noise
Afraid it was too late
Afraid her husband had made
His final mistake

He was alive
And in fact not shot
But he lied and said he was
So he would not be caught

He crawled to the couch
In the messy living room
The woman called the cops
And left the man to his doom

The man ran out the front door
And the police finally caught him
Hiding near a friend's house
One he'd had since Autumn

They threw him into rehab
But it was unsuccessful
This made the family's life
Even more stressful

So they live today
In that very same house
Not ever arguing
Spouse over spouse

The little girl has grown up a bit
Rarely being amiss
She's the one in her room crying
The one who's writing this

Yes, this story is 100% true, it did happen to me. Very scary.
