A guarded heart

One of my poems that i keep at heart..

We cover our hearts guarding our feelings from the ones we don't understand. when we think about who this person is, we ponder whether or not to let our guards down. if the world wasn't so dreadful, cruel, and hateful, we wouldn't need to guard them. someone special once told me that different isn't bad, just not the same. kinda like our hearts, i have my heart covered, guarded, sealed w/ a kiss, scared of what the world would say, be different. alternative rock, jeans w/ holes in the knees, tight shirts, and baggy Hood's. compared to some one else your the freak. which leads me to my heart being guarded.
