The Inspired Boy

by Vegetable   Apr 9, 2007

Oh! What a beautiful boy I know.
His mind so unafraid to be where others' refuse to go.
Fearlessly he plunges, into the darkest observations.
Yet emerges as pure and undefiled as God's freshest creations.

He thinks thoughts that men go mad with
and knows true of each horror you pray to be myth.
He has caressed your fear's fire without suffering the flame
and kissed all the memories which cause you so much shame.

At night, he flies home with soot on each wing,
but quickly purges himself clean with a rain drop, born in spring.
He washes off all which could dim his gleam,
so he can continue to be the object of my most desirable dream.

The demons that plague me, simply leave him alone,
even while he indulges in everything I cannot bear to know!
Oh! He is so un-tortured and free!
Well, at least he is highly accomplished at pretending to be.
