The Dragon

by purplemadness   Apr 10, 2007

I am a dragon flying on the music of a summer's breeze
I fly through the air, carried by my wings
You can always ask for a ride, you don't have to say please.
That's the benefit that loving a dragon brings.
With my breath, consisting of fire,
I can fulfil your deepest desire.

People look at me, they gaze and stare.
Then in a second, they run in despair.
That's how my life has always been,
Until you made yourself seen.
You did the magic that you do so well,
On that day, you have broken the spell.

I loved you at first sight, I just can't deny.
We flew together way up in the sky,
Way up there you made a promise to me,
That you'd love me 'till eternity.
And as of that blissful day,
You are going with me, on our way

You told me that we'll always be together
You're the love of my life, my only treasure.
Our love is considered a crime
I guess those who judge us, are wrong this time.
People call you the dragon lady,
Let them, ignorant fools, I just call you baby.

For ages I've seen how my species have been slain
By knights and swords, I still can here their cries of pain.
And all I ask is why did they had to die?
I still can see the extinguishing life light in my father's eye.
So I escape, for I am a dragon and bound to flee,
But I am so strong now I know, you'll fly with me.
