The Wasteland

by sibyllene   Apr 10, 2007

A valley empty, cold and dead
the winter keeps its frigid bed

giving birth to stones and ice
the blood the son won't sacrifice

crows shrieking overhead.

Yielding nothing, sharp and blithe
emerging shoots forget to strive

the barren hills, the womb of strife,
abort their green and straining life

the crows, the only life derive.

I had to read it twice to get the full feeling of it. I like it though. It's very well written, and the vocabulary is strong. Awesome job.

I liked this one because the flow was nice, and you gave a lot of detail in small lines. A great read.

Thanks for the comment by the way. :]
