Spring's Winter

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Apr 12, 2007

We talk of how the years
Seem to go by so fast,
And all the seasons quicken,
They never seem to last,
Our springs turn into summers,
And summers turn to falls,
Autumn brings our winter,
Winter to spring, for one and all.
But this year, it was different,
We thought that it was true,
Our winter left, and spring arrived,
But for Mother Nature, that wouldn't do.
With a soft and gentle, warming smile,
She let the sun shine through,
The clouds parted, the snow melted,
And the sky above was blue.
People everywhere began
To welcome in the spring,
Shorts and sports and ceiling fans,
And threw out their winter things.
Suddenly a cold wind blew,
Right before spring break,
And as school drew to a close,
The trees began to shake,
The wind blew to a new extreme,
The snow began to fall,
The cold came as brutal as could be,
It wasn't spring at all.
Now we sit here in the cold,
Wondering how to send
Light and happy spring regards,
When this winter will not end.
