YOUR TIME TO GO

Everything I was meant to say
I'll say to you tonight
with strength and might,
I walk up to your door...

But my phone rings, I've got a call
I fear it's you... in the car
I walk closer, and there you are,
my heart sinks into my toes
I keep asking people... but no one knows

Now sitting here... staring at you
I don't know what I should do,
I pray that your still here, listening to me
I'm hoping that everything I see, is not reality....

Sitting here, I can smell your hair
I bow my head and say a prayer
if I had one word... or maybe two
if I had one last sentence
I would say it to you.

You may not have known it
but you were important to me
if you'd stayed a little longer
then you would have seen...

Your in a better place now
God welcomes you.... and Angels bow
I really wished it wasn't so
now I know it was your time to go.

I guess it was meant to be
but you will always be...
my most important memory.

    Memories is what keeps us rooted to our past and they provide a lesson for the future :) a beautifull and heartfelt poem :) i really enjoyed it even tho it made me think of a few sad times still i give it 5/5 :)

    That was a beautifull poem i loved it. i just recently lost my grandma and that poem meant a lot to me. i wish i could write poems like that.
