The World is Stained

by Kristy   Apr 14, 2007

Death and sadness
Caused by these wars
Fighting is worthless
A fact almost everyone ignores

Life can be taken
It just takes a goodbye
But is the right given
To choose who shall die

To randomly kill
A soldier you are fighting
To not even know them until
They die where you are standing

To cause such pain
Can you hear the people screaming?
If you look at their face can you see the tearstain?
Is anything worth all the lives lost fighting?

The world is stained with the blood of our people
The world is black and there is only us to blame
The world is stained with the blood of our people
The world is dying its already aflame

Children of ashes
Born into destruction
The violence, the curses
Continue their chaotic mission

Tears become dying
As fear becomes pain
The people are crying
Tears mixing with rain

Life that is lost
Can never be found
What is the cost
Of lives fallen to the ground?

Standing in a field of victory
The red pooled about your feet
Must victory cause such misery?
Why must we entirely defeat?
