The Randoms

by Linden   Apr 14, 2007

There are these people I know
They come from far away
I call them the Randoms
And they camped in my head to stay

One told me to sing in class
One told me to shout
Two told me I was crazy
So I started to jump about

I jumped on a bus and laughed
Because the randoms told me a joke
The other people around me didn't get it
They were all just simple folk

No one knows my Randoms like me
I can name them by heart.
Bob the third, Airlie, Yumch,
Jill, Kangaroo and LOL
Make up the wonderful bunch

Kangaroo and Bob the third are brothers
They make the most trouble
They tell me to do crazy things
That I do on the double

Airlie is the worst
She's the one that makes me giggle
I smile when she is in my mind
Sometimes it makes me dribble

Yumch and LOL are completely random
From lemons to pineapple trees
To elevators from llamas
Randoms are so good to me

Making noises on the stairs
People think I'm lost
When I go around town
In a t-shirt in the frost

But then the people with the white jackets came
I told them all about my friends
The jokes and plans they made
But they said it had to come to an end

But I broke away and ran off free
Because these Randoms told me so
They said they would stop them talking
And so I should stay down low

They found me hiding in a zoo
With some kangaroos
I was wild and crazy
And everyone was confused

LEMONS I shouted
It was the lemons all along
Winding inside my mind
Everything was wrong

The medicine made me sleep
I woke in a hospital bed
Everything was silent
lemons was all I said

A few weeks passed and the lemons went away
The doctor said I was fine
I was able to go out again
With my new best friend, Chine

(I had a request for a longer poem! I hope this was long enough.
p.s. I'm pretty crazy!)

Not a bad poem, but the flow was off a number of times and the ending wasn't so good. It was creative and Imaginative but needs some more work.
