When

by Kali   Apr 14, 2007

When you push me one way
I find myself leaning toward another
When you say you know my soul
I realize that part I am still trying to discover.

When you play me a melody
I listen to the soft words that are being spoken
When you say you want to be with me
I find it hard to keep that part of my heart open.

When you say that I just dont understand
I imagine those words as if they were never real.
When you say I need to forgive the past
I do my best to make this shattered heart heal.

When you want to protect me from the hurt
I tend to not let you carry me away
But when you want to run from the confusion
I do what I can to try to make you stay

When you say the words that make my heart pound
They roll off your tongue with such grace
I tend to melt when the subtle silence is broken by your smile
And suddenly, the hurt, the tears, the worries, slip further away.
