Yours To Hold

by Brittney Follett   Apr 14, 2007

I love you so much
And I know that's true.
But whatever I do
Can't keep my eyes off you.

It's impossible to put
My feelings into words.
Some say I don't love you,
And that's just absurd.

Clocks ticking, two a.m.
And you're still on my mind.
I'm chasing you so hard
I'm getting farther behind.

Imagination dies
Finally sleep has come.
I sleep a few minutes
And then, comes the sun.

Getting ready for school,
I can't wait to see you!
Today I'm gonna tell...
Tell you that I love you.

The day goes on and on
Can't say the words to you.
Another day's wasted
And I still love you.

I'm afraid of your answer.
Afraid you'll say you hate me.
I couldn't handle it.
Why can't you see!

The world is spinning
A little too fast.
When I'm with you,
I'd wish it'd last.

I want to be
That girl you hold.
I want to stay
With you till we're old.

I can't help wishing,
That I could be her.
I will never give up.
I'm a natural fighter.

Wanting your love.
Yearning for a kiss.
I just have to say,
I love you Chris.

    This was beautiful!
The opening stanza dragged me right into the poem and from there on it just kept getting better.
I liked how you used his name to rhyme.

This sounds like a sweet and innocent girl writing about her first love. Very cute!
