Love And Logic

by Suffering Soul   Apr 16, 2007

Love does not listen to logic
i have learned this lesson so hard
the mind can't decide to let go
the heart must decide on its own.
when your eyes meet theirs
and the world fades away
you'll tell yourself you're not in love
but soon you'll see in some strange way
that love does not listen to logic.
you tell your mind it never will be
but your heart will keep hoping
for the love there beneath
and in just the last second
when you're finally convinced
that you've fallen so hard
for this personal bliss,
your mind will suddenly see
that maybe love will be.
and it really doesn't matter
how many times you speak the lie
and tell yourself youre free
your love will not listen to logic.
it knows where it longs to be
and no amount of thinking
can pull you from the dreadful hope
as much as you wish it could be
you wish it never was.
and i could ask my heart
a million times over
to forget all the things that i've heard
but i've already learned in some strange way
that love does not listen to logic.
