A Bloody Escape

I wake up at four
From a terrible dream
Just another night terror
Or so it would seem

Yet, it felt so real
I could have sworn it was true
There I was
And there were you

Hand-in-hand
We walked the hall
But suddenly
I began to fall

Not realizing it at first
I tried to grab your hand again
Then reality dawned on me
I knew I couldn't win

All I could do
Was look up at you and gape
As you and him ran away
Making a bloody escape
