A Promise

by Brittney   Apr 16, 2007

It's amazing how she knows me inside and out,
but you can't even tell if I'm for it or in doubt.

You aren't there
Promise after promise turns into lie after lie.
You keep lying and decieving
and I keep ignoring and believing.

If I was as immoral as you
I'd start lying to you too.
Tell you everything you didn't want to hear,
and once I was done not even shed a tear.

But I care too much for my forthcoming,
and everything you're doing is becoming a lot less stunning.

Don't pretend like you were there all the time,
your lies have lost their rhyme.

As time goes on I care less and less
because I am becoming fatherless.

Don't keep telling yourself you have no idea what went wrong,
pretty soon you will get tired to singing that same old song.

You'll see that I will only talk to her,
because of you her words became my only cure.
