Poetry

Poetry is my life
some people dont understand
they say I'm too silent
but I'm speaking with my hand
my words speak volumes
though nobody cares to listen
"the best words are spoken" they say
but the better ones are written
sometimes afraid to say what i feel and think
so i resort to the solution of writing it in ink
the paper wont judge me
it wont even talk back
because paper doesn't care if I'm black, white
tall, short, skinny, or fat
it doesn't care if i repeat myself
because sometimes situations repeat themselves
but back to the subject of my life being jotted
about what i say cant be twisted, blemished or blotted
like the age old game of pass it on
you might say 'this' but it will be 'that' before long
i can talk about love and scream for joy thats unheard
about my dreams and aspirations that people may believe to be absurd
i can turn my pain into prose
my rain into rhyme
i can turn my tears into letters
and my sadness into stanzas
release all my fears about my circumstances
bring light into my dark world, give my life second chances
poetry is my life so you must understand
that not only do i write, i run, walk
cry, laugh, speak and live with my hand
poetry

With tardy completion alack, accompanied by the Bard, I have set to meat pondering that which has stirred in your soul causing pen to press to paper. Ah, the muses be impressed at such caper. William and I say...well met!
