Eternal Slumber

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Apr 18, 2007

Lovely pink roses
Heartfelt words
The cool evening breeze
The whistling of the birds

From the shores of our oceans
To the mountains up above
These objects signify
A world surrounded in love

Why then am I
Shrouded in black
And things that were friendly
Seem to attack

It doesn't seem fair
That I have to cry
While I am so low
The rest of the world is so high

Most days are spent
In my dreary bedroom
A place of rest and peace
Has become my death tomb

I hate thinking!
I'd rather be brain dead
Then to have to think about her
While crying on my bed

Memories show sadness
Sadness gives false hope
False hope brings loss of pride
And without pride I cannot cope

The television is off
But I don't really notice
As I stare blankly
Just trying to focus

Apparitions of her
Appear before my own two eyes
But I don't bother
I know they're just lies

So I turn away
Only to hear her voice calling
I plug my ears
It feels like I'm falling

My days go by
And I begin to number
How much longer it will be
Until I reach my eternal slumber
