You and Me

by Katrine   Apr 19, 2007

You
I want the soul you thrive in
The eyes
Sultry mischiff waits for me
In the dead of night.
But I want more.
I want your hand on my face
Powdered for perfection
Praying for kiss.
I want to go to sleep looking at you
and awake to your face
just like that one day
at the nurse
where you pretended to be sick with me
because I wouldn't go alone.
You
Are amazing
the flow of the words on my lips
Dont match my heart
If I could fathom a way to break them open and release
This
Flutter
Thump thump
Rising in the back of my throat
where my tonsils used to be.
You
would be mine for the taking
and late nights
of poetry and wanting
would be no more.
You
and
Me.
