Broken Life

by Dementia   Apr 19, 2007

Don't yell at me

Stop screaming please.

Don't tell me to stop crying.

Please don't hit me.

Put down your hand, unball your fist.

I love you. Isn't that enough?

I'm so afraid.

Not of you...but that I love someone

who wants to save me from you.

My confused heart is breaking.

Half for you and half for him.

I go home to you so drunk and disturbed.

You yell and throw a bottle to the wall

-it shatters.

I hurry to pick up the pieces.

You grab me by my hair and throw me against the wall.

Pinned hopelessly by my neck to the wall.

You hit me until I pass out

hoping that my savior isn't too late.

An Angel in my dreams told me he was coming.

Hold on to your fragile life.

The angel said.

He wasn't late but the cops were

That night I lost you and I lost him

to another savior.
