If You Listen

I once heard a stream
That rippled a tune
And she spoke of the river,
In hopes to find soon.

I once heard the moon
Crying down from the sky
As he lit up our pathways
Easily trodden, but unrecognized.

I once heard the tree
shattered scratches was her sound,
Why below, amidst her shade
None eye looked up, as she peered down.

I once heard the clouds
sprinkling pillows with light dew,
Taking the dirt, and leaving the clean
All unnoticed...nothing new.

I once heard the grass
Below my feet, he giggled in delight
And it was right there in that moment
I knew where I'd lay tonight.

I then heard my Father's voice
From all around, his word sincere
"Love thy beauty that I've given,
Small glimpses of Heaven, far and near."
