Works of Art

by skynerraw   Apr 19, 2007

These beautiful works of art
Have become a shallow part
Of this thing you call my life
Etched there by a knife

They will stay with me until my grave
I have become their slave
These works of art
Have been carved onto my heart

My sleeves may cover this drawing
Keep it from watchful pawing
From these unwanted eyes
You evil spiteful spies

I should not be forced to hide
These works of art so wide
But people would look down on me
If I left them out for all to see

I hide them because I have to
So they aren't put down by you
These beautiful works of art
Carved onto my lonely heart
