One More Fight

I hear the car door slam
he's back from wherever he went.
i run upstairs to hide from him..
i just know I'll be the first thing he hits..

he comes in the house & runs up the stairs..
he searches every room to see where i am
he opens the door to my room,
and it hits the wall with a wham!

i try to run to the window
but I'm much too late
he catches me and pushes me down..
i try to struggle, but he has a much greater weight.

when I'm finally up
he pushes me back to the floor..
i start to cry
& all he does is hit me more.

he kicks me and slaps me
& i struggle with all my might.
he finally walks out of the room
& i know Ive made it through one more fight.
