Now I understand.

by Simon   Apr 20, 2007

I didn't know why;
You cried the first day I went to kindergarten.

You brushed and curled my hair, I wore perfectly matching outfits.

You made sure to make bunny prints in the snow at easter; you never wanted me to stop believing.

You taught me to love people despite all there inadequacies.

You told me never to lie to you; that it would break you.

You told me to always do my best.

You held my hair back the first time I came home drunk.

You were so disappointed in me when you saw that I decided to drive that night.

You sent me to this place, you're just making things worse and I hate you.

Even after all I did and said to you, you still loved me more than ever.

You said I'd always be your little girl.

    I really like this poem.. I'm not really a big fan of these but this one really caught my attention. I sometimes think the same things about my own parents, I guess we'll never understand them.. keep up the good work! 5/5 <3
