Snakes in Suits and Ties

by Kevin Fitz   Apr 22, 2007

Snakes in Suits and Ties

snakes in suits and ties
in a nation built by lies
more hatched from their eggs
like serpents developing legs
their forked tongues contract
with deceitful hearts still intact

peril, their mo(u)rning song
but it is where we belong
for the sins they commit against our fathers wills
trading honesty and integrity for one-hundred dollar bills

what you wouldn't give for just one more dollar
dangle from the ceiling, hung up by the collar
what you wouldn't give for just one more dollar
dangle from the ceiling, hung up by your collar

i always knew your tie would make for a good noose.
