Prayer

by GothChick   Apr 22, 2007

A little girl crosses her hands,
and asks God to protect her dad.
When out of the blue, her dad walks in and says,
"We have to move once again."

She asks no questions as they pile their stuff into the car and head out of town. In the new town no one knows her name, no one knows where she's from,
and no one knows why she's there.

As the days go by no friends are made
because she doesn't want to waste her time,
knowing she could move on a dime.

When she gets into bed,
she looks up at he ceiling
and asks the Lord to help her dad,
even though he doesn't believe.

She woke with a fright that night.Unaware of the danger lurking behind the door she calls to her father for his comfort. When no answer was given she opened the door to find an argument gone wrong.

Standing there in her white nightgown
next to the kitchen door,
she watches as her dad's disagreement turns ugly.

A shoot was fired and she fell to the floor
as a crimson color began to consume her white nightgown.

Her father rushed over to her as the gunman rushed out the door. Her father looked at her as she looked up at the ceiling and said with her last breath, "Dear God, please help my dad."

That was so sad! :( i loved the idea and the thought behind it my only suggestion would have to be that each stanza seemed to have a different structure then the last.

but you don't have to take that on board!! just a thought.

well done babe!! if it wasn't so late i'd have a peep at another one :)

thanks so much 4 the comment *hugs*
