Me versus you

by purplemadness   Apr 22, 2007

I did my best, I did all I can do,
But now it's me versus you.
A tear runs down of one of my scars,
Just like a lost little twinkling star.
These scars that you made, laughing without any taboo,
Long before it was me versus you.

Now you left, after a quick goodbye,
My heart cries like a broken lullaby.
Such a shame that you cannot see,
The way you are destroying me.
I think I stumble back to my lair,
Lay my head down and cry in despair.

How can I go on without you tomorrow?
Drenched in a lake of sorrow?
I know that more pain will come,
But you won't stop until you're done.
And when you finally let me fall,
That's when I will hear my maker call.

Since you declared that we are in war
It's me versus you
I know without you I won't get far
I can't fight the way you do.
After all, I thought I was your friend,
But you broke my heart, it will never mend.

You ruined what's left of my life
You scarred my soul with a burning knife.
But I have no reason to cry,
'cause in the end we all must die.
