Cousin Caterpillar

by SingleWing   Apr 23, 2007

Mr and Mrs Worm
Were worming feeling vexed
"Where i Cousin Caterillar?"
Said Mrs Worm, perplexed

Worming around in search
They found only flies
And the flies spoke nothing
Of where Cousin Caterpillar hides

Through the grass and up the flowers
On bark and bright green leaves
Cousin Caterpillar could not be found
He was really quite a tease!

Then finally Mr Worm,
Spoke sadly to his wife:
"Cousin Caterpillar has fled my Dear"
Mrs Worm began to cry "Oh the strife!"

Mrs Worm was heartbroken
And her tears began to fall
She looked up to the sky and cried
"Cousin Caterpillar, you've left us all!"

And there suspended against the blue,
And winking against the sun,
Fluttered Cousin Caterpillar
A butterfly, the none!
