The Choice

by Joshua Nelson   Apr 25, 2007

Eyes closed,
sight restored.
Body stills,
mind transported.

In that realm a battle is fought,
powers compete, rewards are sought.
Light and dark choose their weapons,
strategically chosen for the battle at hand.

A great warrior steps out of the dark ranks,
striding forth he presents himself for battle.
Clad in an armor of the blackest sin,
I reflection of his soul within.

He knows your weaknesses one by one,
all you want to do is run.
You are weak and he is strong,
without help you could not survive long.

You bow your knee and lift your head,
cry out to God, for he is NOT dead.
“Lord, only you have the power to rescue me, this I admit
please save me, your sinning child from this pit.”

Into a realm of Godly light,
my souls transported from the fight .
Left the darkness of sins evil plight,
protected by God's heavenly might.
