My best friend

by Midnightdreamer   Apr 25, 2007

At one time you was only a suggestion
a fantasy in my mind, a dream I could not touch
as a pretense I thought of you over and over again
Some things you never want to end, my true friend.
As a look you were in my understanding,
as I opened my eyes and saw your features
you became more than just a fantasy
my image of you was precise,
no longer just a thought, not Just another face.
I once thought of you as just a mere
reflection of an idea I cannot see ...
A fantasy in my mind ...
I dreamed of the day I could touch what I
could not see. A true friend
now in my life you have a place in my heart
you linger in thoughts, throughout the day.
I'm sad when you go away
In my world one day you shall be,
my best friend.
