A Poem for Jessica Jack

by Jessi   Apr 26, 2007

At a young age you were taken,
Taken away from us all here.
You struggled to survive,
Struggled to stay alive.

Your battle was lost,
Your precious life gone.
You held on as long as you could,
Longer than we thought you would.

We love you Jess,
We tried our best.

We knew you were ready,
Your body tired.
We cried our eyes out,
Wanted to scream and shout.

Your memory lives on,
Your spirit stays here.
Our hearts still hurt,
The pain is so true.

We love you Jess,
We hope you know.

Graduation is coming,
A seemingly happy day.
Who ever thought,
We'd have one less.

Your name won't be called,
Your cap won't be thrown.
No home video of you,
No happy teary eyes.

We miss you Jess,
Our hearts are yours.

I wish I could clap,
Say "I knew you would!"
I wish I could see you,
Your beautiful smile.

On that stage,
Is where you belong.
Accepting a diploma,
Crying for the end.

I miss you Jess,
It's the complete and utter truth.

This is my poem,
My poem for you.
I never got to say goodbye,
See your face one last time.

Know that I love you,
Think about you daily.
So as my goodbye,
My poem for you.

I love you Jess,
I tried my best!
